Himalayan Artwork of Green Tara | Symbolizing Compassion, Protection and Enlightened Blessings

Authentic Himalayan Artwork of Green Tara | Buddhist Thangka

Himalayan artwork of Green Tara is meticulously hand-painted by skilled artists at Enlightenment Studio on handmade cotton canvas using traditional Himalayan techniques. Natural gesso is applied to the canvas in layers to produce a smooth, long-lasting surface that enables accurate and detailed brushwork. Natural stone pigments create vivid, long-lasting colors that capture the lush greens of Tara's robes, lotus throne, and sacred decorations. Her crown, halo, and ornamental patterns are highlighted in genuine 24K gold, giving the thangka a radiant and auspicious shine. This artwork, which was painted in accordance with the Karma Gadri tradition, combines spiritual symbolism with traditional Himalayan workmanship to create a devotional masterpiece and a contemplative focal point for enlightened blessings, protection, and compassion.

Green Tara, also known as Shyamatara, is one of the most revered forms of the deity in the context of Tibetan Buddhism and is revered for her swift and compassionate protection. She is a deity of mercy and can vanquish fear and danger while providing immediate help to those who need it. She is depicted sitting on a lotus with one leg stretched out and can jump into action at a moment’s notice. Her association with the color green represents her deep association with the earth and her ability to remove obstacles with speed and efficiency. Her mantra is widely recited to seek her blessings and overcome physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges. She represents the loving and compassionate aspect of Buddha’s wisdom and provides healing and peace to all who seek her blessings. Her figure represents the potential of compassion and awareness to overcome the obstacles of life.
