About Our Product
This Himalayan Altar Ghau Box is a finely crafted round devotional container designed in silver-plated copper, featuring deeply embossed Buddhist iconography on its exterior surface. Measuring 8 cm in height, 9 cm in length, and 4 cm in width, and weighing 0.16 kg, this compact ritual box is designed for carrying sacred objects, prayers, relics, or protective items during spiritual practice and travel.
The front panel of the box displays a central seated deity figure surrounded by intricate symbolic motifs arranged in a circular mandala-style composition. The surrounding carvings include floral elements, ritual patterns, and protective symbolic forms that represent spiritual safeguarding and enlightened awareness. The raised detailing across the surface highlights traditional Himalayan metalworking techniques, where each motif is placed to create a balanced visual rhythm of protection and blessing energy.
The reverse side features a smooth, minimal copper surface, showing the natural base structure of the box, while the side clasps allow it to be securely closed and opened. Traditionally, ghau boxes are used as portable shrines or reliquaries, carried close to the body or placed in personal altars. This piece serves as both a spiritual container and a decorative sacred object, suitable for meditation spaces, altar arrangements, or cultural collections.
Introduction of Ghau Box
A Ghau Box is a traditional container used in Tibetan Buddhism to store and transport sacred artifacts and other spiritual items. These boxes are often adorned with intricate designs and mantras, and are believed to offer protection and blessings to their owners. They may also be used as a form of religious devotion and are frequently given as gifts to friends and family members to provide them with spiritual support and blessings.
