About Our Product
This Handmade Tibetan Butter Lamp Set includes two matching lamps, each measuring 11.5 cm in height and 8.5 cm in diameter, with a 5.5 cm base and an inner depth of 4 cm. Each lamp weighs 0.2 kg, with a total weight of 0.4 kg. Made from brass and copper, the set features a polished finish with finely engraved floral and traditional decorative patterns across the bowls and pedestal bases.
This Tibetan Butter Lamp Set features a wide upper bowl with a gently flared rim and detailed floral engraving around the outer surface. Below the bowl is a rounded central section followed by a shaped stem with raised bands and carved decoration. The lower part widens into a stable pedestal base, also finished with engraved patterns and a smooth border. In Tibetan Buddhist tradition, butter lamps are offered as symbols of wisdom and clarity, with the light representing the removal of ignorance and the path toward spiritual awakening.
This Handmade Tibetan Butter Lamp Set can be used for Buddhist altar offerings, meditation, prayer, ritual practice, monasteries, Dharma centers, temples, and home shrines. The matching pair is suitable for traditional altar arrangements and sacred light offerings during daily spiritual practice.
Introduction to Butter Lamp
The whole process of offering a butter lamp is also a very spiritual practice. The traditional practice of preparing a butter lamp starts by washing one’s hand, wearing a mask to protect from contaminating the butter lamp through one’s breath, making the wick out of pure cotton, and cleaning the chalices with a clean piece of cloth reserved for this or fresh mosses from the trees, which was commonly used in old times. The whole process is a meditative spiritual practice that engages a person physically and mentally if they know and practices it according to the norms.
