About Our Statue:
This is a handmade Himalayan statue of Mitrugpa, standing at 8.5”/21.5cm (Height) and 5.7”/14.5cm (Base). This statue is composed of a copper body and 24-karat gold. Designed by talented Nepalese artisans, this detailed sculpture is ideal for altars, meditation areas, or as a meaningful decorative item for individuals seeking to cultivate awareness in their daily lives.

The Mitrugpa Buddha is serenely seated atop a moon disc lotus seat in a lotus posture. The lotus motif represents purity, enlightenment, and the triumph of spirit over adversity. The blue color of Mitrugpa Buddha symbolizes clean water, wisdom, and the ability to reflect objects without being affected by them. He holds a vajra, a ritual item, in his right hand while performing the 'Bhumisparsa mudra,' representing the moment the Buddha attained enlightenment, claiming the earth as his witness with his left hand. 

In Vajrayana Buddhism, Buddha Akshobhya, also known as Mitrupa or the Unshakable One, is one of the Five Dhyani Buddhas. He embodies the transformation of rage and hostility into clear, introspective insight, recognizing reality for what it is. Deep blue is a hue that is frequently used to represent Akshobhya, signifying the depth and breadth of his intellect.

Introduction to Mitrupa:

Mitrupa, also known as Mitrugpa, is a deity in Tibetan Buddhism identified with immovable wisdom, clarity, and spiritual protection. He is often equated with Akshobhya Buddha, one of the Five Dhyani Buddhas, who symbolizes steadfastness, serenity, and the transformation of anger into wisdom that is mirror-like in nature. Mitrupa represents the quality of being immovable in the face of obstacles and distractions, embodying spiritual resolve and unwavering clarity on the path to enlightenment. As such, he serves as a protector and inspiration for practitioners seeking stability and wisdom in their meditation and spiritual practice.

How do you take care of your statues?

• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by the Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face.
• Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.

Consecration Service Available

Each statue contains a sacred chamber for mantra and relic fillings to bestow spiritual empowerment. During consecration, these sacred items are placed inside and blessed through traditional rituals performed by the ordained monks. There is a fee for this service, offered as a respectful contribution to the monastery.
