This handmade Gautama Buddha statue, also known as Shakyamuni Buddha, is a stunning piece of spiritual art. It is made from copper, plated with 24k gold, and hand-painted with acrylic colors. Standing at 34 cm tall and 21.5 cm wide, this statue depicts the Buddha in a peaceful and meditative pose, symbolizing enlightenment and wisdom. The gold plating gives it a radiant glow, while the acrylic colors add depth and detail to the design.
Shakyamuni Buddha is depicted sitting in the lotus pose (padmasana), indicating his steady concentration and mastery over the distractions of the material world. His right hand stretched toward the earth in the bhumisparsha mudra, representing his moment of enlightenment, as he invited the earth to witness his awakening. The left hand, lying gently in his lap in dhyana mudra, holding an alms bowl, depicts the profound state of meditation and mindfulness that leads to insight and clarity.
Shakyamuni Buddha renounced his royal life to pursue a more profound truth that transcended material pleasures and suffering. He was born Prince Siddhartha of the Shakya clan. After years of rigorous asceticism and meditation, he became enlightened under the Bodhi tree and became the Buddha—the Awakened One. He then dedicated his life to teaching the Eightfold Path and the Four Noble Truths to attain liberation. Shakyamuni Buddha stands for the potential for all beings to awaken. He embodies wisdom that leads to ultimate freedom, the victory over ignorance, and the tranquility of non-attachment. His presence is a timeless reminder of the transformative power of inner realization, compassion, and mindfulness.
Introduction of Shakyamuni Buddha
Siddhartha Gautama, born the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom, was raised as a king according to his royal father's wishes. Around age 29, he encountered immense human suffering. He then renounced his lavish lifestyle, opulent clothing, and fortune to discover the source of this anguish and find a cure. After over six years of study, self-denial, and intense concentration, he finally achieved his goal, attaining nirvana and becoming a Buddha. He subsequently taught that he visited a deer park outside Varanasi, India, in Sarnath (Benares).

Each statue contains a sacred chamber for mantra and relic fillings to bestow spiritual empowerment. During consecration, these sacred items are placed inside and blessed through traditional rituals performed by the ordained monks. There is a fee for this service, offered as a respectful contribution to the monastery.
