About Our Product

This Handmade Altar Enlightenment Stupa is a sacred Buddhist art piece crafted from a copper body with radiant gold plating, designed to bring spiritual harmony and peaceful presence into meditation and altar spaces. Standing 30cm tall with an intricately layered 15.5cm base, the stupa reflects the essence of enlightenment, devotion, and mindful awareness within Himalayan Buddhist tradition.

Introduction of Enlightened Stupa

Prior to Buddhism, great teachers were interred in mounds. While some were cremated, others were sometimes buried in a seated, meditative posture. These mounds of earth covered them, leading the domed shape of the stupa to represent a person seated in meditation, much like the Buddha when he achieved Enlightenment and understood the Four Noble Truths. The stupa's base represents his crossed legs in a meditative pose, the middle section signifies the Buddha’s body, and the top of the mound, from which a pole rises surrounded by a small fence, represents his head. Before human images of the Buddha were created, reliefs often depicted practitioners demonstrating devotion to a stupa.

Consecration
