About Our Product
This Handcrafted Shakyamuni Buddha Sculpture is made from an oxidized copper body with 24K gold plating and acrylic color, creating a peaceful Buddhist altar statue for meditation, prayer, and shrine display. Measuring 21.5cm in height, 16cm in length, and 12cm in width, with a weight of 1.5kg, the statue has a calm seated form that brings a sacred presence to any spiritual space. The warm oxidized finish adds depth to the robe and lotus base, while the gold-plated face, painted features, and small colored accents highlight the refined beauty of the sculpture.
Shakyamuni Buddha is shown seated in the vajra posture on a lotus base, symbolizing stability, purity, and awakened wisdom. His right hand reaches downward in the bhumisparsha mudra, or earth touching gesture, which represents the moment of his enlightenment when he called the earth to witness his awakening. His left hand rests in meditation mudra, holding an alms bowl that symbolizes simplicity, renunciation, and mindful living. The calm expression, blue curled hair, elongated ears, and monastic robe reflect the traditional iconography of the historical Buddha and his path of peace and liberation.
As a Buddhist meditation statue, this Shakyamuni Buddha sculpture supports prayer, offering practice, mindfulness, and quiet reflection. Placed on a home altar, shrine table, or meditation space, it helps create an atmosphere of calmness, wisdom, and devotion. The presence of Shakyamuni Buddha reminds practitioners of the teachings on compassion, discipline, and freedom from suffering, making this sculpture a meaningful piece for spiritual practice and a graceful sacred decor item.
Introduction of Shakyamuni Buddha
Siddhartha Gautama was born as the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom and nurtured to be a king in line with his royal father's aspirations. However, when he was around 29 years old, he learned about people's tremendous pain. He abandoned his palace life, giving up his magnificent robes and gold to uncover the reasons for this anguish and methods to alleviate it. After nearly six years of study, self-denial, and intense concentration, he achieved his aim, attaining nirvana (becoming a Buddha). He then asserted that he had visited a deer park outside Varanasi, India's Sarnath (Benares).
