About Our Statue:
The Handcrafted Sculpture of Medicine Buddha stands 8 cm tall and has a base width of 6 cm, making it a graceful piece for any space. Crafted from an oxidized copper body. Symbolizing healing, compassion, and tranquility, this statue embodies the essence of the Medicine Buddha.
The Medicine Buddha is depicted holding an alms bowl, in which a healing portion is believed to reside. In his right hand, he carries a myrobalan plant, a medical herb that represents his capacity to heal physical and spiritual illnesses. His right arm has an exquisite carving of one of the eight auspicious symbols (Endless Knot). This symbolizes Samsara, the endless cycle of suffering within Tibetan Buddhism, which includes the chain of birth, death, and rebirth. His tranquil visage and powerful aura exude deep compassion and serenity, promising protection and well-being to those who seek his blessing.
The healing energy of all enlightened beings is manifested in the Sangye Menla, also known as the Medicine Buddha. He is highly revered across all Buddhist traditions, particularly for his pledge to help beings overcome the mental and physical ailments that stand in the way of their spiritual practice. Menla Sangay is considered very effective for healing and developing a compassionate heart, as he embodies the ideal balance between spirituality and science in medicine.
