About Our Product
This Handcrafted Ritual Butter Lamp is made with a copper body and gold plated finish, designed for offerings, altar decor, and Buddhist devotional practice. It measures 16.5cm in height with a 12.5cm diameter, 8.5cm base, and 5.5cm inner depth, with a weight of 0.42kg. As a Tibetan puja lamp, it carries deep spiritual meaning and brings a warm sacred presence to meditation rooms, shrine spaces, and ritual settings.
This Offering Butter Lamp has a wide bowl with a beaded rim for holding butter or oil offerings. The outer bowl is decorated with the Eight Auspicious Symbols, representing blessings, protection, wisdom, good fortune, and the path to enlightenment. The gold-plated copper body features simple floral patterns that add a traditional look. The center stem has layered details and stands on a lotus-shaped base with petal designs and beaded borders, symbolizing purity, devotion, and the light of wisdom in Buddhist practice.
Introduction To The Butter Lamp :
The whole process of offering a butter lamp is also a very spiritual practice. The traditional practice of preparing a butter lamp starts by washing one’s hand, wearing a mask to protect from contaminating the butter lamp through one’s breath, making the wick out of pure cotton, and cleaning the chalices with a clean piece of cloth reserved for this or fresh mosses from the trees, which was commonly used in old times. The whole process is a meditative spiritual practice, which engages a person both physically and mentally, if the person knows and practices it according to the norms.
