About Our Product

This Handcrafted Reclining Buddha Statue measures 8 cm in height, 23 cm in length, and 5 cm in width, with a weight of 0.58 kg. Crafted from lapis powder, it features a smooth sculpted surface with finely worked robes, facial features, and decorative details throughout the figure. The elongated reclining form rests upon a rectangular base carved with traditional patterns, while the calm expression and balanced composition reflect Himalayan Buddhist craftsmanship suited to shrine rooms, meditation spaces, and spiritual interiors.

This Handcrafted Reclining Buddha Statue depicts the Buddha resting on his right side, with his head gently supported by his right hand and his body extending in a peaceful reclining posture. His serene face, elongated earlobes, curled hair, and ushnisha reflect traditional signs of Buddhahood, while layered monastic robes flow across the body with carved ornamental folds. The left arm rests naturally along the body, and the legs extend together above the decorated base. This posture is commonly associated with the Buddha’s Parinirvana, representing his final passing beyond the cycle of rebirth after complete enlightenment. Rather than displaying a formal hand mudra, the reclining posture itself conveys peace, detachment, wisdom, impermanence, and liberation.

This lapis powder Buddha sculpture can be placed on a Buddhist altar, shrine table, meditation area, yoga space, temple setting, or quiet home interior. Its peaceful reclining form can support contemplation on impermanence, enlightenment, inner calm, and the Buddhist path while creating a focused atmosphere for meditation and daily spiritual practice. It can also serve as a meaningful spiritual gift for Buddhist practitioners, meditation enthusiasts, or collectors of Himalayan sacred art.

Introduction To The Sleeping Buddha :

This particular posture in the Buddha's life originated at the same time as the other Buddhist symbols and images, most notably in the Greek-influenced Gandharan period of Buddhist art. Many different regions have followed suit in their Buddhist art to represent one of the pivotal moments in the Buddha's life. In Buddhism, this stance of the Buddha is known as the mahaparinirvanasana, where the Buddha realized his death was approaching. While in this position, he requested his students to create a couch near a bush to make it easier for him to lie down.
