About Our Product
This Handcrafted Kadampa Buddhist Stupa measures 32 cm in height, 13 cm in length, and 13 cm in width, with a weight of 1.98 kg. Made from copper with a gold finish, the stupa features a carefully worked surface with engraved floral patterns, raised decorative bands, lotus details, and finely shaped architectural sections. The balanced structure and polished finish give the piece a traditional Himalayan Buddhist appearance suitable for altar and spiritual display.
This Kadampa Buddhist Stupa features a pointed finial at the top, followed by an ornamental crown section and a tall stepped spire made with repeated circular levels. Below the spire is a decorated square section with carved floral details, leading into the broad central body. The lower section is formed with several stepped layers, engraved patterns, and raised borders, ending in a lotus shaped base with repeated petal forms. The lotus base represents purity and spiritual awakening, while the rising structure of the stupa represents the path toward enlightenment. In Buddhist tradition, stupas are sacred symbols connected with the enlightened mind, Dharma practice, merit, and remembrance of the Buddha’s teachings.
This Handcrafted Kadampa Buddhist Stupa can be used for altar placement, meditation, prayer, Buddhist ritual practice, monasteries, Dharma centers, temples, and home shrines. Its sacred form, stepped structure, lotus base, and detailed engraved decoration make it a meaningful object for spiritual practice, devotion, and Buddhist altar display.
Introduction of Stupa
Before Buddhism, great teachers were buried in mounds. Some were cremated, but sometimes they were buried in a seated, meditative position. The mound of earth covered them up. Thus, the domed shape of the stupa came to represent a person seated in meditation, much as the Buddha was when he achieved Enlightenment and knowledge of the Four Noble Truths. The base of the stupa represents his crossed legs as he sat in a meditative pose. The middle portion is the Buddha’s body, and the top of the mound, where a pole rises from the apex surrounded by a small fence, represents his head. Before images of the human Buddha were created, reliefs often depicted practitioners demonstrating devotion to a stupa.
