Handcrafted by the craftsmen from Kathmandu, this magnificent Sitatapatra statue or Dukar is sculpted from a copper body and then gilded with 24k gold in our studio. The deity is considered a protector against supernatural danger in Buddhism. Sitatapatra manifests in many forms: having a thousand faces, arms, and legs, or simply as a feminine deity of great beauty. Known foremost for her "white umbrella," she is holding up a large white silken canopy acting as a status symbol with her left arm. She is frequently credited with the "golden wheel.'' The enormous halo behind the statue depicts a thousand arms with intricate designs with a halo of fire which was beautifully designed with acrylic paint.
