About Our Product
This Handcrafted Chenrezig Locket measures 6cm in height, 4cm in length, and 1cm in width, with a weight of 0.03 kg. The locket case is made from white metal and features a colorful acrylic depiction of Chenrezig at the center, surrounded by an intricately decorated frame. Four turquoise stones are set into the corners of the front panel, creating vivid blue-green accents against the silver-toned metal. The combination of hand-worked metal ornamentation, painted imagery, and gemstone details gives the piece a distinctive Himalayan Buddhist character.
The front panel presents Chenrezig seated against a radiant halo, with the figure rendered in detailed acrylic colors and surrounded by lotus and ornamental elements. The rectangular image is enclosed within a raised white metal frame decorated with repeated circular patterns, scrolling motifs, and fine borders, while the four turquoise settings emphasize the corners of the composition. The reverse side features an elaborate raised metal design with a central vase-like ornamental motif surrounded by flowing floral and scrollwork patterns. The upper loop is integrated into the locket case for attachment to a chain or cord.
Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara, is one of the most revered bodhisattvas in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism and is associated with compassion. This locket brings his sacred imagery together with the traditional metalworking heritage of Patan, where local artisans continue to produce finely detailed religious and decorative objects. Created in 2019, this piece can be worn as Buddhist jewelry or preserved as part of a collection of Himalayan sacred art and traditional Patan craftsmanship.
Introduction of Locket
A Buddhist locket is a piece of jewelry designed to hold a small prayer, mantra, or image related to Buddhist practice. The locket may feature a design or image of a Buddhist deity, such as the Buddha, or a representation of a sacred symbol, like the lotus flower. It is typically worn as a talisman to remind the wearer of their spiritual path and to offer protection. Some Buddhist lockets are also used as a form of religious devotion and are frequently given as gifts to friends and family members to provide them with spiritual support and blessings.
