About Our Product

This Handcrafted Buddhist Enlightenment Chorten measures 23cm in height, 14cm in length, and 14cm in width, with a weight of 0.51 kg. Crafted from a copper body and finished with gold plating, the chorten is decorated with turquoise, coral, lapis lazuli, and gemstone accents. Its stepped base, central chamber, tall upper structure, decorative ornaments, and colorful stone details create a traditional Himalayan Buddhist appearance suitable for an altar, shrine, or meditation space.

This Enlightenment Chorten is finished at the top with a sun and moon symbol, representing awakened wisdom and compassion. Below it is a decorated crown with lotus-style details. A series of stacked rings forms the upper section, showing the gradual path toward spiritual awakening. Decorative side ornaments extend beside the rings and are set with turquoise and lapis lazuli. The main body has a small arched shrine opening surrounded by detailed patterns. Below this are several stepped levels, representing a strong foundation for Buddhist practice. The lower sections are decorated with turquoise, coral, lapis lazuli, and gemstone accents, along with floral and lotus patterns. At the bottom, a wide square base supports the entire chorten. Introduction of Stupa

Before Buddhism, great teachers were buried in mounds. Some were cremated, but sometimes they were buried in a seated, meditative position. The mound of earth covered them up. Thus, the domed shape of the stupa came to represent a person seated in meditation, much as the Buddha was when he achieved Enlightenment and knowledge of the Four Noble Truths. The base of the stupa represents his crossed legs as he sat in a meditative pose. The middle portion is the Buddha’s body, and the top of the mound, where a pole rises from the apex surrounded by a small fence, represents his head. Before images of the human Buddha were created, reliefs often depicted practitioners demonstrating devotion to a stupa.
