About Our Product
This Handcrafted Green Tara Altar Sculpture was carved in 2020 by artist Ravindra Maharjan from Japanese coral, featuring a seated depiction of Green Tara surrounded by finely detailed ornamental patterns. The carving presents Tara with a serene expression, elaborate jewelry, flowing ornaments, and a beautifully carved lotus pedestal. The surrounding frame is filled with curling floral and auspicious motifs, creating a detailed border around the central figure. The warm natural tone of the coral emphasizes the depth and precision of the hand-carved details.
Green Tara is revered in Tibetan Buddhism as a Bodhisattva of compassionate and swift activity, associated with protection, fearlessness, and the compassionate response to suffering. She is traditionally depicted with her right leg extended, expressing her readiness to rise and assist sentient beings. Her right hand rests in the gesture of generosity, while her left hand is raised near the heart and holds the stem of a lotus, representing purity and awakened qualities. Her peaceful expression conveys compassion, wisdom, and readiness to offer assistance.
This Green Tara Coral Sculpture is suitable for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, shrine rooms, personal spiritual collections, and traditional displays. Its compact size, Japanese coral material, detailed carving, and traditional iconography make it a distinctive devotional artwork. Created by Ravindra Maharjan in 2020, this piece also carries the character of a specific artist's craftsmanship, making it a meaningful addition to collections of Himalayan Buddhist art and handcrafted sacred objects.
Green Tara is one of the principal deities who deals with us, confused and distracted beings, bringing us back to our original state. It helps you release hope for a particular outcome and regain your energy, generating inner peace and clarity. She is believed to be incarnate in every pious woman. Green is connected to the element of wood in the five elements. The wood element inspires rejuvenation, compassion, flexibility, and growth.
