This Handcrafted Altar Kadampa Stupa is a traditional Tibetan Buddhist sacred sculpture measuring 12.5cm in height, 6cm in length, and 6cm in width, with a weight of 0.25 kg. Crafted from a copper body with gold plating, this altar stupa presents a distinctive stepped form with a rounded base, raised central structure, ribbed upper section, and ornate pinnacle. The carefully finished surface reflects traditional Himalayan metal craftsmanship and makes this Kadampa Stupa a meaningful addition to Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, and spiritual collections.

This Kadampa Stupa features a richly decorated lotus inspired base, layered circular sections, and a raised central structure that leads toward the sacred upper finial. Introduction of Kadampa Stupa

Historically, before Buddhism, great teachers were buried in mounds. While some were cremated, others were sometimes interred in a seated, meditative position, covered by a mound of earth. Consequently, the domed shape of the stupa came to represent a person seated in meditation, much like the Buddha when he attained Enlightenment and understood the Four Noble Truths. The base of the stupa represents his crossed legs in a meditative pose, the middle portion signifies the Buddha’s body, and the top of the mound, where a pole rises from the apex surrounded by a small fence, represents his head. Prior to the creation of human Buddha images, reliefs often depicted practitioners demonstrating devotion to a stupa.
