A Sacred Buddhist Symbol for Enlightenment
About Our Stupa
This hand-carved copper Stupa, with its gorgeous oxidized antique finish, honors the journey to enlightenment. The stupa, which dates back to ancient Buddhist traditions, signifies the Buddha's meditation posture as well as the path to spiritual awakening. Every aspect of the stupa is loaded with significant meaning, from the base representing crossed legs in meditation to the top representing enlightened understanding.
This stupa is 13.5cm tall, made of high-quality copper, and weighs 0.63kg. It oozes timeless beauty. Its ancient patina exudes reverence and authenticity, making it an excellent addition to altars, meditation areas, or as a focus for spiritual decor. This sculpture is ideal for people who want to enhance their Buddhist practice or decorate their sacred place.
Introduction To Stupa :
Before Buddhism, great teachers were buried in mounds. Some were cremated but sometimes buried in a seated, meditative position. The mound of earth covered them up. Thus, the domed shape of the stupa came to represent a person seated in meditation, much as the Buddha was when he achieved Enlightenment and knowledge of the Four Noble Truths. The stupa's base represents his crossed legs as he sat meditatively. The middle portion is the Buddha’s body and the top of the mound, where a pole rises from the apex surrounded by a small fence, represents his head. Before images of the human Buddha were created, reliefs often depicted practitioners demonstrating devotion to a stupa.
