Note: Guru Padmasambhava Thangka is an original painting from Enlightenment Studio, located at Boudha Stupa.
Guru Padmasambhava appears youthful as he is beyond the realm of aging or decay. His loving and powerful eyes are wide open symbolizing that he looks after all sentient beings with his omniscient wisdom, unconditional love and boundless power. He wears a Lotus-hat of five petals which represents the empowerment of all the Five Classes of Buddhas. The "Lotus-born" is called so because he was born miraculously in a lotus without human parents, Twelve years after the Mahaparinirvana of the Buddha.
