Medicine Buddha, revered as the Supreme Healer in Tibetan Buddhism, embodies the curative power of enlightened compassion. He is shown seated peacefully in vajrāsana on a lotus and moon disc base, symbolizing purity and detachment from worldly pain. His right hand is extended in the gesture of giving, holding the myrobalan plant—a sacred herb in Tibetan medicine known for its potent healing properties. His left hand, resting in his lap in dhyāna mudrā (the meditation gesture), holds a bowl filled with healing nectar, representing the spiritual remedy that addresses the root causes of suffering: ignorance, attachment, and aversion. His calm expression reflects deep inner tranquility, while the uṣṇīṣa atop his head signifies his fully awakened wisdom. Adorned with traditional sacred ornaments, Medicine Buddha's depiction is a profound symbol of physical well-being and spiritual liberation.

Introduction to Medicine Buddha:

Medicine Buddha, known as Bhaisajyaguru in Sanskrit, embodies healing and medicine in Mahayana and Tibetan Buddhism. He represents the enlightened aspect of all healing—physical, mental, and spiritual. Practitioners turn to the Medicine Buddha for guidance in overcoming illness, suffering, and negative karma, as well as cultivating compassion and wisdom. His teachings emphasize the importance of ethical conduct, mental purification, and altruistic intention as foundations for true healing and well-being. Through devotion, visualization, and mantra recitation, followers seek personal and collective healing, aiming to alleviate the suffering of all sentient beings.

How do you take care of your statues?

• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by the Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face.
• Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.

• Handmade items may have slight variations

• Colors may differ slightly due to natural materials and lighting

During consecration, these sacred items are placed inside and blessed through traditional rituals performed by the ordained monks.
