With an astounding height of 46.5cm (18.3 inches) and a base of 37cm (14.6 inches), this statue depicts Amitayus, the Buddha of Infinite Life, who is highly respected in Buddhist traditions for his healing, longevity, and health-promoting qualities.
This statue, which is made of a copper body and is gilded in 24K gold, gleams brilliantly, the surface of which reflects the careful attention to detail in the acrylic and gold paintings that accentuate Amitayus's serene countenance and the ornate details of his robes. A hint of divine grace is added by the hand-carved jewels inserted throughout, which stand for the abundance and value of life. At 8.89 kg, it makes a significant impression and is perfect for adorning the hallowed area of any meditation center, temple, or residence.

Amitayus, of the Aparimitagunasamchaya or Amitavyhavat pure world, is usually shown in his apparitional buddha form (sambhogakaya), red in color, wearing a crown and jewels, and holding a long-life vase over two hands in a meditation gesture. A buddha is said to have three bodies in the Mahayana Buddhist tradition: a form body (nirmanakaya), an apparitional body (sambhogakaya), and an ultimate truth body (sambhogakaya) (dharmakaya).
