About our Statue:
This finely carved Gampopa Statue, 23 cm tall and made of copper, honors Gampopa, an important Tibetan Buddhist teacher and founder of the Dhakpo Kagyu Lineage. The statue, with its antique finish, represents the teachings, wisdom, and compassion of one of Tibet's greatest spiritual gurus.
Gampopa was essential in the formation of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism, which combined Mahamudra teachings with the Kadampa tradition. He is regarded not just for his meditation techniques, but also for his persistent efforts to help sentient beings by teaching and developing monastic communities.
