About Our Product
This Drashi Lhamo Wall Hanging measures 11cm in height, 8cm in length, and 0.8cm in width, with a weight of 0.12 kg. Handmade from brass, it features a raised central figure framed within an arched form, with intricate relief work covering the surrounding surface. The textured brass finish creates a rich contrast between the raised and recessed areas, emphasizing the fine ornamental details across the piece.
The central figure is seated within an elaborate arched frame, surrounded by decorative motifs and finely worked patterns. The lower section features a structured pedestal with layered borders and a central ornamental motif, while the top is finished with a small loop for hanging. The reverse side retains the raised impression of the relief design, showing the handcrafted construction of the wall piece.
Drashi Lhamo is a protective figure associated with Tibetan Buddhist traditions. This wall hanging can be placed in a Buddhist shrine, home altar, meditation space, Dharma room, or as part of a collection of Himalayan Buddhist artwork. Its compact size allows it to be displayed individually or alongside other sacred wall decorations.
Introduction of Wall Hanging
A metal thangka is a type of thangka painting created on a metal surface rather than traditional canvas or paper. These thangkas are often crafted from copper, brass, or silver and feature intricate designs and Buddhist iconography created through repoussé, a technique where the image is hammered from the reverse side to create a raised relief image on the front. Metal thangkas are valued for their durability and are frequently used in ritual contexts or as decorative items in Buddhist homes and temples. They are particularly common in Tibet, where they have been produced for centuries.
