The sculpture portrays Dipankara Buddha in a poised standing posture that symbolizes assurance, guidance, and the transmission of sacred teachings. His serene facial expression radiates compassion and tranquility, while the neatly arranged hair curls and elongated earlobes reflect classical Buddhist iconography representing wisdom and renunciation. Introduction of Dipankara Buddha
Dipankara is a historical Buddha believed to have lived on Earth for a hundred thousand years. The theoretical number of Buddhas is vast, often referred to as 'Thousand Buddhas,' each responsible for a life cycle. According to certain Buddhist sources, Dipankara (also known as Dipamkara) achieved enlightenment eons before Gautama Buddha. He is commonly depicted as a seated Buddha, though standing representations are common in China, Thailand, and Nepal. Typically shown with a begging bowl and staff, he usually forms a protective mudra (Abhaya mudra) with his right hand, though sometimes with both.
How Do You Take Care of Your Statues?
- Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
- Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
- Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by the Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
- Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face.
- Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
Consecration Service Available
Each statue contains a sacred chamber for mantra and relic fillings to bestow spiritual empowerment. During consecration, these sacred items are placed inside and blessed through traditional rituals performed by the ordained monks. There is a fee for this service, offered as a respectful contribution to the monastery.
Please note: Once consecrated, the statue becomes a sacred object and cannot be returned or refunded.
