Dhritarashtra-Guardian of the East, It is advantageous to everyone to keep an image or statue of him in our home or workspace or home altar. Dhritarashtra, one of the Four Heavenly Guardians, is a worldly guardian worshipped as a protector. He lives on the east side of the lower slopes of Mount Meru in the Heaven of the Four Great Kings. Like the other Direction Kings, the leader Vaishravana, Virupaksha and Virudhaka, he swore an oath of protection before the buddha Shakyamuni.
Dzambala practice, like that of other Buddhas, can assist us in achieving Enlightenment. This statue sits in a regal position with an arrogant scowl.
