Dharmapala Offering Serkyem Set
About Our Ritual Item
The exquisitely created Dharmapala Offering Serkyem Set, with its oxidized copper body, perfectly captures the rich spiritual legacy of Tibetan Buddhism. This set is an expression of respect and devotion; it is a holy container for gifts made to the guardian gods, known as Dharmapalas. With great care and attention to detail, every piece of the set reflects the rich symbolism and spiritual value found in Tibetan Buddhist rites.
The set is elegant and holy, representing the transcendence and purity of spiritual offerings. The serkyem are adorned with 24k gold plating. The Serkyem ceremony has its roots in Tibetan Buddhist tradition and is conducted to honor and call upon the blessings of Dharmapalas. By using this set to make offerings of alcohol or other substances, practitioners can strengthen their spiritual ties and ask the divine for protection and direction.
The Dharmapala Offering Serkyem Set facilitates spiritual communication and transformation whether it is employed in group rituals or personal practice. Its presence inspires awe and reverence, encouraging practitioners to uphold the compassion, knowledge, and courage that the Dharmapalas embody.
Introduction to Serkyem
The Serkyem, also known as Golden Drink, is part of the Dharma Protector's practice. In Tibetan, Ser means "golden," and Kyem means "beverage."
It is offered by pouring the beverage into a cup-like wine glass and placing it into a lower bowl. The beverage is poured into the cup during the offering, where the liquid overflows into the lower bowl. The symbol of the overflowing liquid is highly auspicious because it represents an abundant flow of merits.
