About Our Product
This Dharmadhatu Buddhist Stupa Set is a sacred representation of Buddhist tradition, featuring a beautifully crafted main stupa along with a smaller Dharma Dhatu piece. Made from oxidized bronze, this set reflects traditional Himalayan craftsmanship through its detailed carvings, aged finish, and symbolic design. The main stupa measures 29cm in height, 16cm in length, and 16cm in width, weighing 2.95kg, while the Dharma Dhatu piece measures 8cm in height, 8.5cm in length, and 8.5cm in width, weighing 0.53kg. This stupa set showcases careful craftsmanship from the base to the top. The lower section features a decorated square platform with engraved patterns and small deity motifs, while the layered structure above includes detailed borders, lotus-inspired designs, and ornamental textures. The central section rises into a rounded form, followed by the stepped spire that represents the stages of spiritual development. Introduction of Stupa
Before Buddhism, great teachers were buried in mounds. Some were cremated, but sometimes they were buried in a seated, meditative position. The mound of earth covered them up. Thus, the domed shape of the stupa came to represent a person seated in meditation, much as the Buddha was when he achieved Enlightenment and knowledge of the Four Noble Truths. The base of the stupa represents his crossed legs as he sat in a meditative pose. The middle portion is the Buddha’s body, and the top of the mound, where a pole rises from the apex surrounded by a small fence, represents his head. Before images of the human Buddha were created, reliefs often depicted practitioners demonstrating devotion to a stupa.
