About Our Product:
This Dharma Mani Prayer Wheel is a handcrafted Buddhist ritual object featuring a cylindrical prayer wheel mounted on an ornate copper stand. Measuring 16.5cm in height, 8cm in length, and 8cm in width, the piece features a distinctive turquoise-toned surface, engraved mantra bands, and decorative relief work throughout its compact structure.
The prayer wheel features multiple horizontal bands inscribed with Tibetan mantras, separated by ornamental borders and raised decorative panels. Floral and symbolic motifs appear around the central body, while the upper section is finished with a domed lid and pointed finial. The wheel is elevated on a central support and surrounded by an elaborately shaped four-footed copper stand featuring scrolling ornamental details.
In Tibetan Buddhist practice, mani prayer wheels are used alongside mantra recitation, meditation, and devotional practice. The rotating wheel traditionally contains sacred mantras and serves as a physical support for mindful and devotional activity. This Dharma Mani Prayer Wheel is suitable for Buddhist altars, shrine spaces, meditation areas, and collections of traditional Himalayan Buddhist ritual objects.
Introduction of the Prayer Wheel
A prayer wheel is a cylindrical device mounted on a spindle, commonly used in Tibetan Buddhism. It is typically inscribed with the mantra 'Om Mani Padme Hum' and rotated by hand as a form of spiritual practice to accumulate merit. Spinning the wheel is believed to offer the same spiritual benefits as verbally reciting the mantra. Prayer wheels are widely used in Tibetan Buddhism and their practice has extended to other cultures.
