About Our Product
This Crowned Shakyamuni Buddha Statue measures 25.5cm in height, 17cm in length, and 11cm in width, with a weight of 1.93 kg. Crafted from a copper body and finished with 24K gold plating and electro-gold plating, the sculpture is enhanced with detailed acrylic coloring across the robes, facial features, crown, and lotus pedestal. The richly decorated surface combines radiant gold with vivid red, blue, and green accents, creating a detailed presentation suited to a Buddhist altar.
The Buddha is seated in a cross-legged posture upon a colorful lotus pedestal, wearing an elaborate crown and richly decorated robes. His right hand extends downward in bhumisparsha mudra, symbolizing the moment of calling the earth to witness his awakening, while his left hand holds an alms bowl in his lap. The crown, earrings, robe borders, hair, and pedestal are embellished with finely rendered ornamental details. The rear of the sculpture continues the decorative treatment, including the red robe, patterned back, and inscription along the base.
Shakyamuni Buddha is revered as the historical Buddha and teacher of the Dharma, whose teachings form the foundation of Buddhist practice. The crowned form represents a richly adorned artistic presentation of the Buddha, combining traditional Buddhist iconography with elaborate Himalayan craftsmanship. This piece suits Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, Dharma centers, monasteries, home shrines, or collections of Himalayan Buddhist art.
Introduction of Crowned Shakyamuni Buddha Statue
Siddhartha Gautama, born the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom, was raised as a king at his father's wishes. Around age 29, he became aware of humanity's immense suffering. He renounced his palatial lifestyle, lavish clothing, and fortune to discover the source of this anguish and find a cure. After more than six years of study, self-denial, and intense concentration, he finally achieved his objective, attaining nirvana and becoming a Buddha. He then taught in a deer park outside Sarnath (Benares), near Varanasi, India.
