The Vajradhatu Mandala is a sacred geometric diagram used in Tibetan Buddhist practice to represent the universe and various aspects of enlightenment. "Vajradhatu" translates to "diamond realm" or "indestructible realm," symbolizing the ultimate reality or absolute truth in Buddhist philosophy.
The mandala depicts the Vairochana Buddha at its center, surrounded by an array of other revered Buddhas. Vairochana Buddha, often considered the embodiment of the Dharmakaya, represents the ultimate truth and wisdom of enlightenment. Surrounding Vairochana are depictions of other prominent Buddhas, such as Amitabha Buddha, the Buddha of Infinite Light; Shakyamuni Buddha, the historical Buddha; Medicine Buddha, the healer of physical and mental ailments; and Amitayus, the Buddha of Infinite Life. Each Buddha embodies specific qualities and teachings, offering devotees guidance and inspiration on their spiritual journey.
This particular Mandala of Vairochana is specially practiced to purify the negative actions of a being. This mandala is large in size and has been painted with utmost care using one hair brush. It took almost more than 7 months to complete this mandala.
