Chenresig Thangka

Introduction To The Thangka :

Chenresig is the most renowned Bodhisattva, embodying all Buddhas' compassion. He is also known as Avalokitesvara, or "One Who Looks With Unwavering Eye." In times of conflict and trouble, he listens to the cries of all sentient beings. His two front hands clasp in front of his jewel-draped heart in a devotional gesture. On his upper right hand, he wears a crystal akshamala, or rosary, which represents the never-ending cycle. His left hand is clutching a white lotus, indicating that he liberates conscious beings from the muddy streams of agony and hellish places, guiding them to higher levels of enlightenment. He's dressed in silk and sits on a row of lotus petals, his legs in the "diamond pose" of meditation.

How does Thangka benefit us?

It goes without saying that every detail of a painting has a symbolic meaning. Regardless of your religious affiliation, a thangka can help you on your path to enlightenment, whether you practice Buddhism or have other religious convictions. Thangkas are paintings that depict deities with various iconographic elements and symbolism that encourage meditation on the teachings of the god they depict. Any thangka is intended to aid in the removal of the film of ignorance, which is a significant barrier to the road to enlightenment. The Thangka is revered as a holy item. They promote positivity, spread Buddhism's teachings, bring about peace, harmony, and oneness, and dispel any negative energy that may be there.
