About Our Product

This Buddhist Ritual Kartika Knife represents wisdom, protection, transformation, and the sacred power of Vajrayana Buddhist practice. Made with copper filigree, crystal, gold plating, and natural stone accents, this ritual kartika features a curved crystal blade, vajra detail, and deity heads worked into its ceremonial form. Measuring 61.5 cm in height, 33.5 cm in length, and weighing 2.58 kg, it is well suited for Buddhist altars, shrine rooms, meditation spaces, ritual displays, and sacred collections inspired by Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

The design shows the traditional kartika, also known as a ritual chopper or drigug, with a crescent shaped blade extending from the central shaft. The piece is richly decorated with intricate copper filigree work, gold plated accents, natural stone inlay, crystal elements, vajra motifs, and expressive deity heads that give the object a powerful protective presence. In Vajrayana iconography, the kartika symbolizes the cutting of ignorance, attachment, ego, and negative forces, while the vajra represents indestructible wisdom, spiritual strength, and enlightened power. The deity heads further emphasize the sacred and protective energy of this ritual object.

Placing this Buddhist Ritual Kartika Knife on an altar supports mantra recitation, meditation, purification rituals, and symbolic offerings connected with Vajrayana tradition. It serves as a meaningful sacred display piece for practitioners, collectors, and anyone seeking a Buddhist ritual tool that represents wisdom, courage, transformation, peace, and spiritual protection.

Introduction To The Kartika Knife :

While the Kartika is used in many Buddhist rituals, generally in connection with the kapala (skullcap), it is especially essential in the Tibetan practice of Chöd, a ritual involving self-sacrifice in which the practitioner visualizes their own body as an offering at a tantric feast. The Kartika is also famous for its use in the Tibetan sky burial ritual, in which the bodies of the dead are cut into small pieces and left on top of special gats or burial platforms for the vultures to consume. Unexpectedly, the Kartika is also used in Feng Shui practice.
