About Our Product

This Buddhist Relic Altar Stupa is a handcrafted sacred architectural sculpture made from an oxidized copper body, featuring a grand central stupa surrounded by multiple smaller stupas arranged across a detailed multi-level platform. The main stupa rises prominently at the center, while the surrounding smaller stupas create a sacred composition inspired by traditional Buddhist architectural designs. The lower section features a decorative entrance gate surrounded by rows of prayer wheels, and the antique oxidized finish enhances the depth of the carved details, reflecting the skill of traditional Himalayan metal craftsmanship.

The structure represents a sacred Buddhist environment, with the central stupa symbolizing the enlightened mind of the Buddha and the surrounding smaller stupas representing the expansion of wisdom, blessings, and enlightened qualities in all directions. The prayer wheels along the lower section symbolize continuous Dharma practice and the accumulation of merit through devotion. At the rear, two protective figures serve as guardians, representing spiritual protection and the preservation of sacred teachings. Together, these elements create a meaningful representation of Buddhist devotion, protection, and spiritual awakening.

This Oxidized Copper Buddhist Relic Stupa is suitable for Buddhist altars, temples, meditation spaces, shrine rooms, spiritual collections, and traditional interiors. Its impressive scale, central stupa design, surrounding smaller stupas, prayer wheels, entrance gate, and guardian figures make it a distinctive centerpiece for sacred spaces. Combining traditional Buddhist symbolism with detailed handcrafted artistry, this sculpture reflects the beauty and spiritual depth of Himalayan Buddhist architecture.

Introduction of Stupa

Before Buddhism, great teachers were buried in mounds. Some were cremated, but sometimes they were buried in a seated, meditative position. The mound of earth covered them up. Thus, the domed shape of the stupa came to represent a person seated in meditation, much as the Buddha was when he achieved Enlightenment and knowledge of the Four Noble Truths. The base of the stupa represents his crossed legs as he sat in a meditative pose. The middle portion is the Buddha’s body, and the top of the mound, where a pole rises from the apex surrounded by a small fence, represents his head. Before images of the human Buddha were created, reliefs often depicted practitioners demonstrating devotion to a stupa.
