About Our Product
This Buddhist Altar Guru Rinpoche Sculpture measures 24cm in height, 15cm in length, and 11cm in width, with a weight of 1.51 kg. Handcrafted from a copper body, this sculpture features a gold-plated finish and detailed acrylic color. The figure is richly decorated with an ornate crown, jewelry, patterned robes, and a colorful lotus pedestal, while the carefully painted surface brings definition to the facial features, garments, and ornamental details.
The central figure is seated upon a richly decorated lotus pedestal, wearing an elaborate crown and layered robes. He holds a vajra in his right hand and a ritual vessel in his left, while a khatvanga staff rises beside his shoulder. The crown, earrings, necklaces, arm ornaments, robes, and lotus base are rendered with detailed patterns and colorful painted sections. The rear view shows the continued decoration of the robes and pedestal, maintaining the detailed presentation throughout the sculpture.
Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava, holds an important place in Vajrayana Buddhism and is traditionally associated with the establishment and transmission of Buddhist teachings in Tibet. His imagery is commonly placed on Buddhist altars and in meditation spaces. This piece can be displayed in a home shrine, Buddhist altar, meditation room, Dharma center, monastery, or collection of Himalayan Buddhist art.
Introduction of Guru Rinpoche
Guru Rinpoche was an instrumental figure in Tibetan Buddhism. In Tibetan Buddhism, Padmasambhava's teachings are said to have an oral lineage (kama) and a lineage of hidden treasure texts (termas). He is said to appear in visionary encounters to tertöns, and his form is visualized during guru yoga practice, particularly within the Nyingma school. He is revered by Buddhists in Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, India's Himalayan states, and other countries around the world.
