About Our Product
This Buddhist Altar Green Tara Sculpture is a finely handcrafted representation of Green Tara, created by artist Amir Shakya in 2019. Made from an oxidized copper body, the sculpture features a rich dark finish that highlights the detailed carving of the crown, jewelry, garments, lotus throne, and flowing decorative elements. The figure is seated gracefully with one leg extended in a posture associated with readiness to respond, while the elaborate crown, necklaces, earrings, and ornaments reflect the traditional craftsmanship of Himalayan Buddhist sculpture.
The Statue displays the traditional iconography of Green Tara, with her right hand extended in Varada Mudra, the gesture of generosity and compassionate activity, while her left hand is raised near the chest in a gesture of reassurance and refuge. The Utpala stem rises beside her shoulder and supports a blooming utpala flower, symbolizing purity and spiritual awakening. Her serene expression, graceful posture, ornate jewelry, and lotus imagery emphasize her association with compassion, protection, and the swift response to those seeking assistance.

During consecration, these sacred items are placed inside and blessed through traditional rituals performed by the ordained monks. There is a fee for this service, offered as a respectful contribution to the monastery.
