About Our Product

This Buddhist Altar Butter Lamp Set  is made from a copper body and richly decorated with hand-carved coral, turquoise, and lapis gemstone details. Each lamp features a tall ceremonial form with a broad covered bowl, a sculpted central stem, and an ornate tiered base. Auspicious Buddhist symbols are carved around the upper section, while floral patterns, scrolling vines, lotus designs, and colorful decorative motifs extend throughout the surface. The matching pair creates a balanced and radiant presentation for a Buddhist shrine, monastery altar, meditation room, or sacred collection.

The carved auspicious symbols represent favorable conditions, spiritual blessings, and the qualities that support progress on the Buddhist path. Lotus motifs symbolize purity and awakening, while the flowing floral designs reflect growth, harmony, and the unfolding of enlightened awareness. Coral, turquoise, and lapis accents bring vivid contrast to the copper surface and emphasize the layered carvings around the lids, bowls, stems, and bases. Every decorative section contributes to the ceremonial character of these Tibetan offering lamps.

Butter lamps are traditionally lit as offerings of light, symbolizing the removal of ignorance and the awakening of wisdom. This sacred lamp set may be used during meditation, prayer, mantra recitation, puja, and other Buddhist rituals to express devotion and accumulate merit. When placed on an altar, the lamps help create a peaceful atmosphere while reminding practitioners to cultivate clarity, compassion, and awareness on the journey toward enlightenment.

Introduction To The Butter Lamp :

Offering a butter lamp is also a deeply spiritual practice. The traditional practice of preparing a butter lamp starts by washing one’s hands, wearing a mask to protect from contaminating the butter lamp through one’s breath, making the wick out of pure cotton, and cleaning the chalices with a clean piece of cloth reserved for this or fresh mosses from the trees, which were commonly used in old times. The entire process is a meditative spiritual practice that engages a person both physically and mentally, provided the person knows and practices it in accordance with established norms.
