About Our Product

This Buddha of the Past Dipankara Statue represents Dipankara Buddha, one of the Buddhas revered in Buddhist tradition as the enlightened being who lived before Shakyamuni Buddha. Known for recognizing the future enlightenment of Siddhartha Gautama through his prophecy, Dipankara Buddha symbolizes the continuity of wisdom, guidance, and the unbroken transmission of Dharma teachings. This handcrafted stone sculpture measures 15.5cm in height, 11.5cm in length, and 5cm in width, weighing 0.66 kg.

The statue depicts Dipankara Buddha standing gracefully within a beautifully carved arched frame, resting upon a lotus-inspired pedestal. His raised hand gesture represents blessing and teaching, while his calm expression, elongated ears, flowing robes, and detailed stone carving reflect traditional Buddha iconography. The naturally aged surface, carved borders, and subtle textures give this piece the character of an ancient Buddhist artifact, highlighting the beauty of handcrafted stone artistry.

Created with traditional craftsmanship, this Dipankara Buddha Stone Sculpture carries the spiritual presence and artistic heritage of Himalayan Buddhist art. Its compact size makes it suitable for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, sacred collections, or as a meaningful display of Buddhist history. More than a decorative artwork, this statue serves as a reminder of wisdom, compassion, and the enduring journey toward enlightenment.

Introduction of Dipankara Buddha

Dipankara is a historical Buddha, believed to have lived on Earth for a hundred thousand years. The theoretical number of Buddhas is vast, often referred to as "Thousand Buddhas," each responsible for a life cycle. While not as widely known as Shakyamuni Buddha, Dipankara Buddha holds significant importance in Buddhist traditions, especially within the Mahayana and Vajrayana schools. He is recognized as a Buddha of the past, who is said to have foretold the arrival of Gautama Buddha, the current Buddha. In certain Buddhist teachings, Dipankara is portrayed as a great teacher who established the practice of meditation and morality, laying the groundwork for later Buddhas. His image or representation is frequently invoked in rituals and meditations focused on achieving enlightenment and is highly regarded for his ability to assist practitioners on their path to awakening.
