Brass Stupa with Buddha Statues
About Our Stupa
The Brass Stupa with Buddha Statues is a stunning work of art, meticulously crafted from a solid Brass body. This one-of-a-kind stupa features four Buddhas, each meticulously crafted on one of the stupa's four sides, making it an outstanding example of Buddhist symbolism and art. This design is typical of the Newari stupa, which is based on the rich cultural and spiritual traditions of Nepal's Newar people, who are well-known for their significant contributions to Buddhist architecture and art.
The inclusion of four Buddha statues in the stupa's design not only improves its aesthetics but also imbues it with profound spiritual significance. Each Buddha is depicted in a unique pose, representing different aspects and teachings of Buddhism, making the stupa a complete symbol of enlightenment and the Buddhist path. The use of Brass as a material enhances the stupa's durability and sacredness, ensuring that it is a lasting artifact of devotion and artistry.
The Brass Stupa with Buddha Statues is ideal for Buddhist practitioners, collectors of religious art, and anyone looking to add a touch of serenity and spiritual depth to their space. It serves as a powerful reminder of the Buddha's presence and teachings. Its intricate craftsmanship and symbolic richness make it an excellent addition to any meditation space, altar, or collection, providing a link to the Newari tradition and universal Buddhist principles.
Introduction To Stupa :
Before Buddhism, great teachers were buried in mounds. Some were cremated but sometimes buried in a seated, meditative position. The mound of earth covered them up. Thus, the domed shape of the stupa came to represent a person seated in meditation, much as the Buddha was when he achieved Enlightenment and knowledge of the Four Noble Truths. The stupa's base represents his crossed legs as he sat meditatively. The middle portion is the Buddha’s body and the top of the mound, where a pole rises from the apex surrounded by a small fence, represents his head. Before images of the human Buddha were created, reliefs often depicted practitioners demonstrating devotion to a stupa.
