Beautiful Hand-Painted Shakyamuni Buddha with Sariputta and Maudgalyayana:
This hand-painted thangka of Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautam, accompanied by his chief disciples, Sariputta and Maudgalyayana, is a significant spiritual and artistic work. Shakyamuni Buddha is depicted in serene meditation, seated on a lotus throne, symbolizing his enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, and with his right hand touching the earth in the Bhumisparsha Mudra, symbolizing his enlightenment. His left-hand rests in his lap, holding an alms bowl, representing his role as a wandering monk. His calm and compassionate expression reflects tranquility and wisdom. Sariputta and Maudgalyayana, his foremost disciples, are flanked by the central figure, highlighting the Buddha's teachings and the strength of his spiritual community. The background is intricately detailed with rich colors and symbolic motifs, highlighting the sacred nature of the scene.
The use of high-quality pigments and meticulous brushwork showcases the artist's dedication and skill, making the thangka a visual delight and a profound aid for meditation and reflection. It is a powerful reminder of the Buddha's life and teachings, offering inspiration and spiritual guidance for practitioners.
