About Our Thangka :
This Thangka has been a part of our collection for more than 30 years. It was hidden away for a number of years. We only recently made the decision to display our collection of old thangkas. When we presented these exquisite thangkas, we were delighted to see their caliber and depth, and we made the decision to put them online as a resource for everyone. Introduction To Mandala Thangka :
A mandala is a revolving, circular symbol that is quite common in Tibetan Buddhism and Hinduism. A mandala is a depiction of the universe with an inner and outer world, although different mandalas have different meanings.
In Tantric Buddhism, the Mandala stands in for a symbolic Geometric Diagram that illustrates the metaphysical relationship between the microcosm and the cosmos. Mandalas contain a tremendous amount of spiritual energy.
