Introduction To The Thangka :

The Buddha of Infinite Life is the same as Amithaba, the Buddha of Sukhavati, the blissful clean country. The practice increases one's longevity and gained popularity in Tibet as a result of its blessing of life-enhancing empowerments and rites. He is represented in the Mandala (palace) by the crimson word HRI, which represents his most subtle intellect, and is surrounded by his eight forms. The Mandala is exclusively used at initiation, and viewing it is considered a blessing.

How to take care of your thangka?

-Hang your thangka in a traditional silk brocade
-Regular Inspection of your thangka; examine the borders and all attachments.
-Keep thangkas covered when they are on display but not in use.
-Rotate thangkas between display and storage on a regular basis, two to four times a year, to reduce the amount of exposure to light. Keep away from sunlight and humidity.
-Do not apply liquids or other materials to the surface of the thangka.
