Amitabha Buddha, Dzambala, and Chengrezig Thangka | Original Hand-Painted Red Buddha

Red Amitabha Buddha Thangka:
Amitabha means infinite light and he is also known as “Amitayus” or Buddha of the infinite life.
Amitabha was a king who renounced his throne to become a monk. He took the name of Dharmakara Bodhisattva and after accumulating great merit over countless lives, finally achieved enlightenment and became a Buddha.
Buddha Amitabha now reigns over “Sukhavati”, the western paradise, also called “the Pure Land”.
Amitabha has red skin and is dressed in monk's robes sitting in the lotus position. His hands are folded and facing up in meditation mudra (samadhi) holding a bowl containing the nectar of immortality.
Zambala or Dzambala:
Zambala, also known as Kuber is the god of wealth. Zambala or Kubera is also believed to be an emanation of Avalokitesvara or Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. Zambala is the fortune of wealth and prosperity. It is believed that if anyone keeps the painting or statue of Zambala in their home they will be blessed with wealth and prosperity.
It is believed that Zambala practice can remove poverty in all six realms and increase the merits, wisdom, compassion, lifeline and wealth.
Zambala sits on a lotus, holding a mongoose named Nehulay, which spews forth precious jewels and ornaments. He is said to be able to grant wishes and help increase financial abundance.
Chengrezig:
- This form of Avalokiteshvara is widely used for devotional practice for the followers of Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. His six syllabled mantra “ Om mani pad me hum” is the household mantra for all Buddhists all around the world.
