About Butter Lamp
Enhance your spiritual practices with our Altar Butter Lamp Set, a stunning pair of handcrafted copper ritual lamps ideal for meditation, prayer, and altar decor. These lamps are 8cm tall and 6cm in diameter, made of copper with a brass border, and finished with a precise polishing method. The 4cm base diameter assures stability during rituals, and the 2.5cm inner depth is ideal for storing ghee or oil for traditional Tibetan and Buddhist rites. Each lamp weighs only 0.10kg, making the set light (total weight: 0.20kg) for regular use. The lamps' basic yet attractive form makes them appropriate for personal meditation rooms and temple altars.
These Tibetan Copper Ritual Lamps represent not just the light of enlightenment but also the traditional workmanship of Himalayan artists. The brass border hints at refinement, while the copper body exudes a warm, earthy appeal. Whether employed in rituals, as a decorative element, or as a focal point for meditation, this altar butter lamp set adds to the ambiance with its classic aesthetic and meaningful value. Incorporate these handcrafted lamps into your practice to enjoy the spiritual peace they provide.
Introduction To The Butter Lamp :
The whole process of offering a butter lamp is also a very spiritual practice. The traditional practice of preparing a butter lamp starts by washing one’s hand, wearing a mask to protect from contaminating the butter lamp through one’s breath, making the wick out of pure cotton, and cleaning the chalices with a clean piece of cloth reserved for this or fresh mosses from the trees, which was commonly used in old times. The whole process is a meditative spiritual practice, which engages a person physically and mentally, if the person knows and practices it according to the norms.
