This 15-year-old Standing Lokeshwor statue is a beautifully crafted sacred artwork made from an oxidized copper body with gemstone, coral, and turquoise embellishments. Measuring 26.5cm in height, 10cm in length, and 9.5cm in width, this statue weighs 1.36 kg and reflects traditional Himalayan craftsmanship. Made by Ravindra Shakya, it represents Lokeshwor, the Bodhisattva of compassion who embodies kindness, care, and the wish to relieve the suffering of all beings.
This statue depicts Lokeshwor standing gracefully on a carved lotus base, symbolizing purity and spiritual awakening. He wears an elaborate crown, earrings, necklaces, and finely detailed ornaments representing his enlightened qualities. In his left hand, he gently holds a lotus flower, symbolizing purity, compassion, and the unfolding of wisdom. His right hand is raised in a gesture of blessing and reassurance, expressing protection and compassion toward all beings. The flowing garments, gemstone decorations, coral, turquoise details, and carefully engraved patterns showcase the traditional artistry of Himalayan statue making.

Introduction of Lokeshwor
In Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism, Lokeshwor, meaning 'Lord of the World,' is a highly esteemed bodhisattva personifying unending mercy. Also known as Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit, he is revered across East Asian, Tibetan, and Nepalese cultures. Lokeshwor is depicted in various forms, including manifestations with four arms and a thousand arms, symbolizing his boundless compassion. The chant Om Mani Padme Hum, representing enlightenment and universal love, is closely associated with him. He is particularly revered in Nepal as Karunamaya and Matsyendranath. Devotees believe that invoking Lokeshwor's blessings fosters kindness and wisdom, leading to freedom from suffering.
