Vajrakilaya, the Wrathful Buddha Statue | Yidam Deity Vajrakilaya
The Yidam Deity Vajrakilaya statue is 5.36 kg in weight and is 14.2" (36 cm) in height with a 10.6" (27 cm) base. Vajrakilaya is crafted from 24K gold-gilded copper with fierce flaming painted with exquisite acrylic paint. He is renowned for his wrathful aura, which destroys obstacles to enlightenment. He is depicted with six arms, each of which is holding a symbolic item that stands for a major Vajrayana teachings. These include the vajra, which stands for unbreakable wisdom, the skull cup (kapala) filled with nectar or blood, which represents the transformation of desire into wisdom, the bell (drilbu), which represents the wisdom of emptiness, and the phurba, his ritual dagger, which symbolizes his ability to cut through ignorance and negativity. Other hands might be holding trident or various.
The depiction of Vajrakilaya in unity with his consort represents the inseparable nature of compassion (upaya) and wisdom (prajna), which are essential components of the enlightenment path. Wearing crowns of skulls, Vajrakilaya and his consort represent the conversion of the five poisons (delusion, attachment, aversion, pride, and jealousy) into the five wisdoms of the Buddhas. Vajrakilaya's consort's protective nature, along with his own fierce force, make him an effective protector and remover of spiritual barriers.

Vajrakilaya (Dorje Phurpa), also known as Vajrakumara (Dorje Zhonu, Youthful Vajra), is the wrathful Heruka deity who embodies the enlightened activity of all the Buddhas. Vajrakilaya is one of the eight Heruka deities of the Nyingma tantras. Vajrakilaya is also the personal meditational deity of Guru Padmasambhava. He practiced meditation on Vajrakilaya when many obstacles manifested before his display of attaining enlightenment.
