The Vajrasattva Chant Sculpture was expertly hand-carved in Nepal using traditional Himalayan art. We are the Kathmandu Valley artists whose skill in crafting vintage Vajrayana sculptures has been passed down through centuries. In this stunning art, a deity is represented serenely sitting atop a moon disc lotus throne. We diligently hand-carved the statue over a month, giving it a body of pure copper and gilding it with real 24k gold. His face and presence are illuminated by the magnificent halo and nimbus, which we have hand-carved intricate design patterns. We can assure you that the materials used to create this artwork are top-notch and will last for years.

Vajrasatva is typically regarded as the second patriarch in the Shingon Buddhist lineage, the first being Vairocana Buddha. According to Kukai's writings in Record of the Dharma Transmission, Nagarjuna encountered Vajrasatva in an iron tower in southern India, based on Amoghavajra's testimony. As recounted in the Mahavairocana Sutra, Vajrasatva inducted Nagarjuna into the abhiseka ceremony and entrusted him with the esoteric teachings he had gained from Vairocana Buddha. Kukai doesn't go into detail on Vajrasatva or his beginnings.
