Traditional Thangka of Guhyasamaja | Vajrayana Buddhism

One of the most profound and religious deities in Vajrayana Buddhism is represented by the traditional Thangka of Guhyasamaja, which stands for the unification of method and wisdom. Using traditional Himalayan techniques, talented artists in the Kathmandu Valley hand-painted this precious piece on a cotton canvas. Genuine 24K gold accentuates the crown, ornaments, halo, and divine detailing, creating a radiant spiritual presence that reflects its highest tantric significance. Guhyasamaja, also called Yidam Guhyasamaja or The Deity of the Secret Assembly, is one of the major deities of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition of Vajrayana. He is associated with the major form of Anuttarayoga Tantra, the highest form of Tantric realization that represents the conjunction of wisdom and method. This deity is often depicted in the company of his female consort, signifying unity between yin and yang (the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine) in the search for Enlightenment. The Guhyasamaja Tantra has many profound teachings on the non-duality of mind and matter and how to transcend the empirically observed world so that one perceives the ultimate reality. Above him, Shakyamuni Buddha is seated, the founder of Buddhism, and is the way to awakening by wisdom, mindfulness, and inner discipline. Below him, there is Palden Lhamo, Six-armed Mahakala, and Namtoshe. Palden Lhamo, also known as Shri Devi in Sanskrit, represents one of the most powerful female deities of Tibetan Buddhism. Namtoshe, also known as Vaisravana, is a well-known Tibetan Buddhist deity who symbolises wealth and prosperity. One of the most potent guardian deities in Tibetan Buddhism is 6-Armed Mahākāla, sometimes referred to as Mahākāla (Six-Armed) or Dharma Mahākāla. This ferocious and angry form of Mahākāla is venerated for his capacity to eliminate barriers, defend the Dharma, and keep practitioners safe.
