A sacred thangka of the Thousand-Armed Chenrezig Bodhisattva, meticulously hand-painted on cotton canvas using acrylic colors and embellished with authentic 24K gold. Created in the traditional Karma Gadri style, this thangka stands out for its open composition, muted background, and delicate brushstrokes. The multitude of arms, each grasping an eye within the palm, emanates a luminous, golden sheen, representing Chenrezig’s omniscient compassion that extends throughout all realms of existence.
Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara, is a revered figure in Tibetan Buddhism, recognized as the Bodhisattva of Compassion. According to Buddhist teachings, he took a mighty vow never to rest until he had liberated all beings from suffering. When he saw the vast scale of suffering, it's said that his body was completely shattered. Through the blessings of Amitabha Buddha, he was reborn in his thousand-armed, thousand-eyed form to better protect and care for all living beings. The numerous arms represent his tireless efforts to help, while his many eyes symbolize his wisdom and awareness.
