Sacred Lotus Born Padmasambhava Thangka – Tibetan Compassionate Guru
The Lotus Born Padmasambhava Thangka is an important representation of one of the most revered Tibetan Buddhist figures. To ensure both longevity and authenticity, this unique thangka is hand-painted in our studio using high-quality cotton canvas, 24K gold, and acrylic paints. In this work of art, the Tibetan Buddhist painting method known as Karma Gadri, renowned for its clarity, elegance, and intricate details, has been meticulously applied. Karma Gadri art, which has long been employed for religious and meditational purposes, is characterized by symmetrical line work, vibrant colors, and spiritual imagery that create a calm yet potent ambiance.
Here, Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, is depicted in his most revered form, adorned with powerful symbols that represent his wisdom and spiritual authority. The vulture’s feather on his crown signifies his wisdom, while the half vajra on top represents his mastery of the five elements. The Lotus hat, nine iron rings, and the double vajra indicate his connection to the sacred and his ability to transform worldly experiences into spiritual progress. His katvanga and skull cup with a vase on top symbolize his position as the ultimate teacher of change and his power over both life and death. He is sitting on a lotus seat, which represents purity and enlightenment, and holding a five-pronged vajra, which indicates the unbreakable nature of his teachings.
This thangka, a symbol of Padmasambhava, the Lotus-Born Master, is a powerful tool for meditation and spiritual practice in Tibet. It represents his transcendent nature and his readiness to engage in transformative practices.
