Shangpa & Kagyu, Six Arm Mahakala Thangka | The Fierce Protector of the Dharma
With a powerful lunge, eyes wide with rage, and roaring from his fang-studded mouth, the deity Six Arm Mahakala radiates his wrathful strength throughout this Thangka. As the supreme defender of the Dharma, Mahakala represents the wisdom and fierceness essential for protecting the Buddha’s teachings. With six mighty arms, each wielding sacred implements such as the skull rosary, damaru drum, kartika knife, trident, lasso, and a skull cup filled with blood, Mahakala eradicates obstacles, ignorance, and spiritual defilements, making him a compelling symbol of protection and transformation. His blazing aura and fierce demeanor illustrate his role in eliminating the elements that hinder enlightenment.
Hand-painted on cotton canvas with vivid acrylic colors, this Mahakala Thangka radiates strength and divine protection. The gold accents amplify its spiritual brilliance, highlighting Mahakala's celestial power and might. His towering form is depicted standing on a lotus base, encircled by significant symbols of spiritual strength. The fiery background intensifies his commanding presence, emphasizing the importance of his role as protector and remover of obstacles.
