Traditional Shyama Tara Thangka | Green Tara, Goddess of Healing and Liberation
This Shyama Tara thangka is a traditional Tibetan Buddhist artwork, hand-painted on cotton using natural stone colors and 24K gold. Made in the Karma Gadri style, it merges ancient techniques with sacred materials to portray Tara's spiritual essence. The pigments and gold add vibrancy and durability, making it a beautiful and spiritual treasure.
Shyama Tara, also known as the Green Tara, is a highly revered figure in Tibetan Buddhism. Typically shown seated, she symbolizes her quick and compassionate response to the needs of all sentient beings. Her vibrant green color signifies compassion and vitality, while her Abhaya Mudra (gesture of fearlessness) and Granting Mudra (gesture of generosity) offer both protection and blessings. According to legend, Tara was born from a tear of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, and she vowed to help all beings overcome suffering. This beautiful thangka radiates her timeless blessings and serves as a heartfelt reminder of her protective and loving presence.
